In Memory Of Jahiem Legister-Hall
On 2nd September 2019, 17-year-old Jahiem Legister-Hall was killed in a tragic and unexpected motorcycle accident. Jahiem was bright, charismatic, charming, thoughtful and intelligent. He was supportive and kind, wise beyond his young years and had a contagious positive energy. He had an amazing spirit. Jahiem was a core 4FRONT member for three years who brought endless joy, laughter and happiness into our lives. He used his experiences to try and create change in this world. He spoke about solutions to youth violence in the Houses of Parliament as part of the 4MATION Campaign. As a volunteer, he delivered workshops in primary schools to help educate the younger generation and he also completed his emergency first aid certificate. He achieved so much in his life and we are so incredibly proud of him. We are still devastated at the loss of one of our most powerful voices. We miss Jahiem dearly and will never forget the impact he had on all of our lives. On the first anniversary of his untimely passing, we are more determined than ever to create change in his memory.
Jahiem's Justice Centre
We are proud to announce that next month, on what would have been Jahiem’s 19th birthday, 4FRONT will launch a new centre in his memory, as part of our commitment to building his legacy. Jahiem’s Justice Centre is the embodiment of his character, values and dreams. At a time where all resources have been stripped from Grahame Park Estate as a result of gentrification, we have reclaimed the old Chemist and transformed it into a powerful space for creativity, empowerment and healing - in the heart of our community. In honour of the struggles Jahiem faced, the centre will address some of the most urgent needs in our community with transformative justice, healing and holistic support.Â
Jahiem's Justice Centre is the first of its kind in the UK, moving beyond standard youth provision to offer a range of tailored and accessible therapeutic support services, a specialist legal clinic, and an enhanced creative offering, including access to a state of the art music studio, creative skills qualification programmes, and an expansion of our work empowering young people to achieve systemic and community change. Jahiem’s Justice Centre will be a beacon of hope and the home of reimagining justice, peace, safety and freedom for the next generation.
Register here for access to our online launch. Ticket holders will get exclusive access to the premiere of our film about the centre's creation, and be treated to performances, discussions and insights from 4FRONT members and some very special guests. All ticket costs and donations go towards 4FRONT's work providing holistic support and uplifting young people's voices to make systemic change.
