Visiting Julian Cole: the man paralysed by police

In 2013 Julian Cole was arrested by six police officers outside a nightclub in Bedford. His neck was broken. He is now paralysed and suffers from severe brain damage.  His mother, Claudia, continues visiting him in a care home twice a day.

UK Police kill a black man with new batons (1995)

In 1996 the police were criticised for lacking training in the use of the new, long batons, after an inquest decided that Brian Douglas, a black man died after being struck over the head with the weapon had been 'lawfully' killed.
